2012 in review

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

FC Barcelona – Valencia: Brilliant Messi leads fight back (5-1)

Barça came back from an early goal by Piatti for the visitors to bury Valencia with four goals from Messi and a fifth from Xavi to round off a fantastic performance that showed the team are still up for the fight for the league title.

Messi put in an extraordinary game to destroy the third placed team in La Liga and reiterate Barça’s faith in their chances of fighting for the La Liga title. The team showed immense character and commitment when they came back from a sticky looking situation – 13 points behind the leaders, trailing 0-1 to a Piatti goal on 9 minutes  – to blow away Valencia. How did Dubai look on 11-11-11?! [Video]

Gerald Donovan, a photographer, who took a video of Dubai on 11-November-2011, the video was taken from a place called “Center of now” in Dubai. He took the video by letting the camera take a single shot on each 30 seconds, he said about the video -translation-:

You can see the reflection of moon-light as a line going down slowly on Burj Khalifa, it looks amazing, and the same thing happened with the light of the sun, I can assure you that this is the best scene in Dubai!

Where did the idea come from?

The idea was nothing more than a child’s thought, who was me. On grade seven
-two years ago- we had a teacher who was the responsible as a moderator for
our class, he had many great ideas and worked hard for us till we got the “Best
Class” cup that year, it was the beginning of the school year and he asked us
about our suggestions to improve our class, there was a couple of great ideas,

Real Madrid crush Osasuna 7-1

MADRID, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) — Real Madrid suffered no ill effects from the first ever midday kick off at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium as they crushed Osasuna 7-1 in matchday 11 of the BBVA Primera Liga.
